MADELEIN LILJEKVIST

Written by Megan Haber, Grossmont College Women's Tennis Head Coach

Madelein Liljekvist is currently in her sophomore year at Grossmont College studying business with an overall GPA of 3.82. At this time, Liljjekvist is being recruited by four year universities to continue playing tennis and pursue a major in international business.

Liljekvist is currently competing on the women's tennis team (10-1) and is enrolled in 23 semester units! She is a highly motivated student-athlete. She is the Griffins women's tennis captain, number two singles and doubles player.

As the team captain, Liljekvist takes her role very seriously. She motivates her teammates, displays an outstanding example and solves team issues wholeheartedly. Liljekvist communicates with each teammate and considers each one her fiend. Her personality is of true maturity.

The Grossmont women's tennis team is looking to clinch it's seventh consecutive conference championship this spring 2019. Each member of the tennis team has displayed hardwork and determination, and having Liljekvist at the helm as a role model and decision maker has made this an unforgettable season. Many athletes have come and gone over my 21 years coaching at Grossmont, but Madelein Liljekvist is one in a million.
