The Associated Student Government of Grossmont College (ASGC) is hosting beach volleyball Wednesday, March 21, 2018.

On Wednesday, March 21 ASGC is providing free lunch to G-House students attending the beach volleyball competition - Grossmont College versus San Diego State University, Benedictine University and Point Loma Nazarene University. Barbecued hamburgers and hotdogs will be served beginning at 1:00 p.m., accompanied by music and an opportunity drawing every hour.

The event will be held at the sand volleyball courts behind Exercise Science (Building 41), next to Parking lot 3 at Grossmont College. Games versus San Diego State University are scheduled at 9:00 a.m., followed by Benedictine University and Point Loma Nazarene University at 2:00 p.m..

Grossmont College women's beach volleyball opened the season by defeating Ventura 5-0, Santa Barbara City College 5-0, Saddleback 5-0, Mt. SAC 5-0 and Santa Monica 5-0. The Griffin women are 8-3 in pre-season, with their first conference match-up away against College of the Desert Friday, March 16 at 11:00 a.m.

Playing at No. 1 are Griffins Khalia Jordan and Felicia Marshall.

Jordan, a 5-foot-8 sophomore transfer from Cal State Dominguez Hills transfer from Chula Vista and the Epic Volleyball Club, and Marshall, a 5-foot-10 sophomore from Clinton, Utah and a transfer from Western Wyoming Community College, have led the G-House to a 8-3 start with six consecutive victories playing at No. 1.

"Their physicality, power and energy make them a really fun duo to coach and watch," said Grossmont coach Jamie Ivers.

Come support the Grossmont women Wednesday, March 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the G-House. The event is free and open to the public.
