A memorial service in loving memory of coach Dave Jordan will be held at Shadow Mountain Church on Saturday, October 6, 2018.

Former Football Head Coach Dave Jordan and his wife for more than 60 years passed away in their East County home. Condolences go out to his son, current Football Head Coach Mike Jordan, and their family and friends.
During his 23 years as head coach, Coach Dave Jordan brought home state and national football championships in 2005, a state championship in 1974, compiled a 135-89-9 overall record, and showed strong leadership during challenging times for the program. Coach Dave Jordan was named the top community college coach in the state in 1974, and in the year 2000 and 2003, Coach Dave Jordan became one of the few ever to accomplish the repeat of the top community college coach in the state honor.
In 2012, he was inducted into the California Community College Football Coaches Hall of Fame, a fitting honor considering his record and deep passion for helping students find success on and off the field. In total, he spent 36 seasons at Grossmont College, serving first as an assistant and then as head coach. His head coaching career ended in 2005 with triple honors: the Conference, State and Nation's #1 community college football coach.
The Grossmont College community joins Coach Mike Jordan, the football team, Griffin Athletics, football alumni and fans in mourning the loss of a man who truly helped build the college's football program. Thoughts are with the Jordan family.
