The Grossmont College Athletics Department presented its second virtual forum to assist its student-athletes during the campus shutdown. Grossmont College student-athletes, administration, faculty, staff, and community tuned in Friday, December 18, 2020 to receive the latest athletics updates.

Grossmont Associate Dean of Athletics and Athletics Director, Nedra Brown, updated Griffin student-athletes during the forum on topics including spring I vs spring II sports, contact tracing, testing, eligibility, preparing to transfer, financial aide and scholarships, and also allowing the student-athletes to ask questions at any time.

There were some crucial questions being asked, especially in regard to out-of-state and international, and dual sport student-athletes. Having already opted out of spring I sports competition, what will the GCCC District decide for spring II and will the decision be made early enough to accommodate these student-athletes?

The decision to opt in or out of spring II season is February 26, 2021, while the deadline to refund classes at Grossmont College is February 14.

Spring I sports including football, women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's water polo, and women's volleyball will not be competing in spring. If spring II sports compete, practices may begin March 27 and competition April 10.
