GRIFFINS DROP ONE TO PALOMAR

GRIFFINS DROP ONE TO PALOMAR

El Cajon — You know that song, "Mama Said (There Would Be Days Like This)" by The Shirelles?  Yeah, that was the Grossmont College Griffins on Thursday as they dropped a 11-2 decision to the Palomar Comets in a battle of the top two teams in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.

Everything looked good through the first two innings.  Then a bad 10 minutes of defense happened for the Griffins (12-8, 5-2 PCAC).  Three straight errors doomed the day.

Noah Lane did have a good day at the plate going 2-for-4, including a double to right center to try to jump start a rally.

Palomar (15-6, 5-2 PCAC) will look to take both ends of the home-and-home when the Griffins travel to San Marcos on Saturday for a Noon first pitch at their baseball field on the North side of campus.

The Green and Gold will be back at Noel Michelson Field on Thursday, March 24th when they host the Southwestern Jaguars for a 2:00 p.m. first pitch.
