GC football takes the win over Orange Coast College 45-27.

Saturday, October 27 saw another National Southern League match-up between the GC Griffins and the OC Pirates. The game began at 3:00 p.m. at Grossmont High and ended with a Grossmont victory, 45-27.
GC held a 7-0 lead (46 yard run by Jarius Burnette) when Grossmont's Kyler Perrault blocks a punt from the Pirates. Calton Joseph scoops and scores as the Griffins take a 14-0 lead.
On defense, a deflected pass goes into the hands of former Madison High Warhawk Bryson Collins. He returns it to the eight yard line setting up another Grossmont touchdown. This time Brady Abt finds former Otay Ranch Mustang Harold Dobbin for the eight yard touchdown pass, 28-7.
Additional touchdowns were scored by Fabias Shipman III, and Ethan Albertson came up with a field goal and six extra point conversions for the Griffins.
Grossmont College goes on to end an eight-game losing streak dating to last season with a 45-27 victory.
