MEN'S SWIM FINISHES THIRD AT RIVERSIDE

Men's swim team finishes in third place at the Riverside Invitational.
EL Cajon, CA March 11, 2019

Grossmont men's swim team traveled to Riverside City College March 8 an 9 for their annual Riverside Invitational Meet. The Griffin men placed third, while individual swimmers placed in the top five.

Tristan Correia, 6'1 freshman out of Grossmont High, won the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke.

Austin Dickman took second place in the 100 backstroke and top 5 in the 100 fly and 200 backstroke. Dickman is a 5'7 freshman from Granite Hills High.

Mack Nevins and Garrett Hail had good races in the 100 free and 200 free. Nevins out touching Hail in the 200, but Hail out touching Nevins in the 100. The two are sophomore swimmers, returning from their first year at Grossmont in 2017-18. Nevins comes from Grossmont High and Hail out of Christian High.

Brian Kuhn finished fifth in the 1650 free and top 10 in the 500 free and 400IM. Luis Nunez finished closely behind Brian Kuhn for 7th in the 1650. Kuhn is a 5'9 sophomore from Grossmont High, and Nunez a 5'5 sophomore from Steele Canyon High.

Correia, Dickman, Nevins, Hail, Wes Papike, Isaiah Webster all teamed up for multiple relays for third place finishes in the 200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle and 200 medley relay. 

Great work to the men of Grossmont College's swim team. Their next meet is Friday, March 15 at San Diego Mesa College versus conference competitor Palomar College.
