The crowd cheered as the home team was fighting back from a deficit.

El Camino's men's volleyball team (2-4 overall, 0-0 in conference) had climbed back and trailed by just one point, 19-20, against the visiting Grossmont Griffins (2-1 overall, 0-0).

Travis Lee, Grossmont head coach, called timeout and the Griffins went on a 5-3 run to end the second set and eventually take the 3-1 (22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 27-23) victory on the road on Wednesday.

EC head coach Dick Blount was not happy with today's performance especially after the win against Mesa last Friday.

"We didn't play very well," Blount said. "We're like 1-5 in the second set and we need to fix that. We don't have a go-to guy. We have go-to swingers, but they haven't developed yet."

Blount added that he isn't getting what he wants from the team and isn't happy with the results.

"We're an average team against better teams," Blount said. "I've never had it in my life (0-3 at home), so we'll have some tough practices."

Sophomore outside hitter Nehemiah Iosia led all players with 17 kills, followed by Grossmont's freshman Ryne Benson, who tacked on 16 kills in his team's road win.

El Camino had 54 total errors on the night compared to Grossmont's 46 total errors; with each set being decided by three or two points, the team needs to work on limiting errors.

"All season we're making too many mistakes," EC assistant head coach Kurt Peters said. "We've been working a lot on serving and hitting errors, so we'll work on it some more."

With the loss, the Warriors fall to 0-3 at home and 2-4 on the season and former women's volleyball player and current sophomore beach volleyball player Jewel Yandall was astonished at the record.

"Wait, really?" Yandall said. "0-3? They need to get it together and eliminate the unforced errors."
