BROCK KAMMERER SCORES STATE RECOGNITION!

Brock Kammerer is a honorable mention in the statewide athlete of the month nomination for October.

The California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) has voted Brock Kammerer a Honorable Mention in the monthly Athlete-of-the-Month for Ocotber 2018. This is a statewide honor for Kammerer.

SACRAMENTO - Outstanding wrestler Greg Viloria from San Joaquin Delta College and standout women's soccer player Sydney Carr from Cerritos College turned outstanding months in October into Athlete of the Month honors from the California Community College Sports Information Association, it's been announced.

Greg Viloria | San Joaquin Delta College | Men's Wrestling | Sophomore
Viloria has been dominant in the 125-pound division for the Mustangs over the past two seasons. The month of October was no different for Viloria, adding three tournament crowns to his resume. The CCCAA's top-ranked wrestler took home hardware after winning the Modesto Tournament, the NorCal Dual Championships, and the Meathead Tournament. After coming in third at last season's 2017 CCCAA State Meet, Viloria boasts a 25-0 overall record after an impressive October showing. The Merrill West High School alumnus will look to cap off a tremendous run in 2018 with a State Title.

Sydney Carr | Cerritos College | Women's Soccer | Sophomore
Carr, a transfer from UC Irvine, paced the nation's top-ranked Cerritos College Falcons all season. During the month of October, the Falcons went 8-0 with Carr scoring at least one goal in each of the team's eight games, for a total of 21 goals. Not only did she create for herself, but she also got her teammates involved, notching at least one assist in six-of-eight games for a total of 10 assists. She twice had four-goal three-assist games, had four hat-tricks, and three of those were four-goal performances. Carr leads the state in scoring. At the end of October, she had scored goals in an amazing 15 consecutive matches.

Honorable Mention - Men
Brock Kammerer | Grossmont College | Men's Water Polo | Freshman
Kammerer helped lead the Grossmont College Griffins men's water polo team to a 9-5 record and eventual PCAC Championship during the month of October. The freshman standout scored in all but one of the team's 14 games during October, totaling 45 goals, 34 assists, and 15 steals. He led the team with five goals, four assists, and four steals in the PCAC Championship game and led the PCAC in goals scored (95) and assists (75), both ranking third on the CCCAA statistical leader board. 

Honorable Mention - Women
Emma Fraser | Santa Barbara City College | Women's Water Polo | Freshman
Fraser led the Santa Barbara City College women's water polo team to an 8-1 record during the month of October. The freshman standout had at least one goal and one assist in each of SBCC's nine games, including six games where she scored three goals or more. Fraser totaled 25 Goals, 13 assists, 14 steals, and 4 exclusions drawn in October.
