Title: Men's Water Polo Assistant Coach

Water polo fiend Chad Evenrud, also known as "Big Mac," returned to Grossmont College in 2013 as goalkeeper coach. Evenrud competed in men's water polo at Grossmont in 2007.

As Grossmont's starting goalkeeper, Evenrud was named state All-American and regional first-team in 2007. In addition, Evenrud was the 2007 Pacific Coast Conference Most Valuable Player and first-team player. After Grossmont, he continued to compete at Whittier College.

At Whittier College in 2010, Evenrud was named NCAA All-American and Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference second-team player. He currently holds the third most career blocks at Whittier, with 531 blocks in the 2010-11 season. Evenrud graduated Whittier College with a Kinesiology degree as part of the college's Honor Roll and NCAA All-Academic Team.

Evenrud draws his motivation from role models including Neil Degrasse Tyson, Tony Gwynn, Junior Seau and Walter Sobchak, all whom guided Evenrud back into the pool as a coach. Evenrud states, "My favorite part about coaching is shaping the youth of America through the sport."
