The Grossmont College women's basketball team will be hosting the 30th Annual Grossmont College Holiday Women's Basketball Tournament beginning Thursday December 28th through Saturday the 30th.  Grossmont College - the defending Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Southern Division Champions from last year will kick off the tournament on Thursday December 28th at 7:00 PM vs Foothill College.  The Griffins are currently 5-8 overall as they enter the tournament, these three days will be the final preparation before the women start play against the PCAC North and then ultimately the PCAC South division for which Grossmont resides.  On January 3rd at 6:00 PM the women will host Palomar and begin the 2 weeks of 4 games against the North.  On Wednesday January 17th at 5:00 PM the Griffins will host Imperial Valley in their first PCAC South Division contest.  The next seven games for the Griffins basketball team will be extremely valuable as they prepare to defend the PCAC South Division Title.  Head Coach and 2016-2017 PCAC Coach of the Year Karen Caires has an older and more experienced team this year and this team's expectations have been raised.  Sophomores Kyra Bruesewitz from Reno, Nevada and Brittany Gafare from Hilltop High School, San Diego lead the Griffins in scoring at 10.2 points per game.  Patrick Henry alum Courtney Branch is grabbing 6 rebounds and 2 steals per game as she along with 7 others return from last year's championship squad.  Make sure to come to the G-House for three days of great college basketball and support the defending PCAC South Conference Champions!  See Bracket Below.
