LADY GRIFFINS ARE 0-1-1 IN CONFERENCE

Women's soccer starts fall conference with a tie versus San Diego City and a loss to Southwestern.
El Cajon, CA September 19, 2018

Women's soccer began conference competition (Pacific Coast Conference) on the road last Friday, September 14, 2018. The women have traveled to Southwestern and San Diego City College thus far in conference play, resulting in a 2-3 loss and 1-1 tie respectively. The women chase the conference championship for an opportunity to continue competing in the California Community College Athletic Conference (CCCAA) regional playoffs.

The CCCAA regional playoffs begin with a play-in round November 15 at the higher seeded college. Playoffs continue (with games being played at the higher seed's home turf) November 17, 20 or 21, and 24 followed with the state championship at Ventura College November 30 and December 2. If the Griffin women qualify for regionals, it will be because of leading scorers Elizabeth Bagdasar (1), Kimberly Nava (1), Julia Hartman (1) and Chelsey McEntee (1).

#6 Bagdasar, sophomore midfielder out of Steele Canyon High, holds a single goal and assist in conference play, shooting at .333%. #7 Nava holds one conference goal and a 1.0 shooting %. #11 McEntee is an El Capitan High alumni and GC sophomore with two conference goals, two conference assists, and a .500 shooting %, while #9 sophomore from Patrick Henry High, Hartman, holds eight conference shots, but zero conference goals for a .125 shot %.

The women continue conference play this Friday in the #gcghouse against 5 time (consecutive) conference champion San Diego Mesa College. The game begins at 1:00 p.m.
