SEASON FINISHER ENDS IN A HAT TRICK

SEASON FINISHER ENDS IN A HAT TRICK

#6 Elizabeth Bagdasar scores three goals in women's soccer's last game of the season.
El Cajon, CA November 7, 2018

Tuesday, November 6 was women's soccer's last game of fall season, versus conference competitor Imperial Valley College. The Griffin women defeated the Lasers 3-1, with all three goals scored by GC's Elizabeth Bagdasar.

Bagdasar found her first scoring opportunity in the sixth minute, capitalizing with a header from a corner kick fed by teammate #22 Anixia Pulido. She sank her second goal in the 14 minute with a net ripping shot to the right corner, assisted by fellow hat trick holder #9 Julia Hartman. The third and final goal (hat trick!) for Bagdasar was recorded just before the end of the first half; in the 40 minute, Bagdasar redirected a driven ball into the goal box by lefty #11 Chelsea McEntee. She records a total of nine goals this season.

This season, GC coaches and teammates alike have relied on the 5'9 sophomore's versatility and leadership on the field; Bagdasar has played every position on the pitch (except goalkeeper!), started a majority of this season's games, scored nine and has been the loudest communicator on the field. Bagdasar deserves some recognition!

The Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) is scheduled to release its first and second team picks in late November, and Bagdasar is a great contender for these accolades.

Head coach Jason Aldous states, "She is a character!"

With a conference record of 2-3-4, Grossmont women's soccer finished this season in third in the PCAC. The women finish with an overall 7-6-5 record, and a hat trick for the record books. Go Griffins!
