GC men's and women's water polo defeat conference competitor Southwestern College.

Grossmont men's and women's water polo traveled to Chula Vista Wednesday, September 26 for their fourth Pacific Coast Conference match-up, against Southwestern College. Both the men and the women brought home the win, 26-8 and 15-6 respectively.
Leading scorers for the Grossmont men include Cole Duffet (3), Cole Kammerer (6), Anson Rassmussen (3) and Ryan Blevitt (3). Rassmussen, freshman driver out of Santana High, also assisted four, while Kammerer (sophomore utility out of University City High) lead the team in shots (7) and steals (4). On the women's side, Maria Jimerez and Grace Martin both scored most often with four and five goals respectively. Martin, sophomore driver out of Grossmont High, also assisted eight! Reny Carr, sophomore goalkeeper out of West Hills High, came up big with five assists against Southwestern.
GC women continue into conference 3-1, while the men's team swims ever closer to the conference championship (PCAC) holding a 4-0 conference record, 7-0 overall. The men and women will travel back to Chula Vista, CA (Southwestern College) on November 2-3 to compete in the 2018 conference championship. Before then, GC water polo takes on conference rival Palomar College again on October 10, 2018, this time in home water (Joan Kroc Center).
