Grossmont hosted San Diego Mesa Friday, October 11 in another Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) game. Despite the 3-0 loss, Grossmont women's soccer played a good game against the Olympians.

The Griffin women held off (and at times even dominated) the Olympians during the game. The first goal was scored after 20 minutes of equal possession (Mesa 1, Grossmont 0).

The first goal didn't slow the Griffin center midfielders; #24 Basia Llamas, #22 Clarissa Estrada and #10 Maya Mozo kept building the attack back into the Olympians' half, finding forward #7 Carly Reese and testing the Olympians' defense.

Mesa scored again in the 35' and it was 2-0 at the half.

The second half started with a quick goal for Mesa in the 47', and at this point it's 3-0 with more than 30 minutes of the game remaining. Holding strong, Griffin defenders #6 Lauren Farris, #8 Breanna Jacobo, #30 Christine Montler and #14 Sierra Carter successfully finished the game without any additional goals being scored.

#1 Raynee Weber totaled 5 saves during Friday's game, with Grossmont having more than 7 shots on goal itself.

The women continue the season 5-2 in conference, 5-5-1 overall and improving each game. Catch their next home game Tuesday, October 22 at 1:00 p.m. at Grossmont College against Imperial Valley College.
