PCAC play continued as the Griffins took on the Jaguars of Southwestern College.
The game started off close. The Griffins went up 4-3 in the first quarter with Vaughan Clark, Lucas Draper, Jake Simpson, and Zac Barclay got their first goals of the game. The Jaguars had a good 2nd quarter beating the Griffins 4-3, but thanks to a big time penalty shot by Freshman Ethan Harmon, the teams were tied at 7-7 at half time. The Jaguars held a 2 goal advantage midway through the 3rd quarter, but goals by Vaughan, Lucas, Jake, and Zac put the Griffins up 11-10 going into the 4th.
The Griffins started the 4th quarter a bit slow, but then Freshman driver Vaughan Clark decided it was time to get his team going scoring 3 of his 5 goals. Zac Barclay tossed in his 4th of the game, and Lucas Draper and Jake Simpson both contributed to the effort securing the Griffin's the 16-12 victory.
With the Win, the young Griffin squad improves to 3-1 in Conference play. Next Wednesday the Griffins will take on the Olympians of Mesa College (4-0), 7:00 pm at Mesa College.
