EL CAJON – The Grossmont College Griffins defeated the San Diego City College Knights 5-3 in a Pacific Coast Athletic Contest at Noel Michelsen Field on Thursday, April 6.

Ethan Caschetta hit two home runs providing the margin of victory for the Green and Gold (13-11, 6-6 PCAC).  His first home run was on the third pitch of the bottom of the first to deep right center field bouncing off the power generator for the Cell phone towers.  His second was another solo shot, this time with two outs in the seventh inning and to left field.

Skyler Agnew also hit a home run, a two-run shot down the right field line in the fourth to give the Griffins a 3-0 lead.

The beneficiary of the Griffin offense was Ethan Heider (4-1) who went seven strong innings allowing two runs on seven hits, walking one and striking out seven Knights.  Dylan Vail came in for a hold and Bradley Barkley closed the door on the victory recording his sixth save of the season.

City (15-14, 5-10 PCAC) cracked the scoreboard with two runs in the top of the fifth.  They scored on a sacrifice fly and a single, both to left field.  Barkley did allow a run to score in the ninth on a sacrifice fly to right.

The two teams will close out the season series with a game at Morley Field in Balboa Park on Good Friday.  First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
