EL CAJON – Grossmont College pitcher Kyle Dobyns announced that he has committed to play at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa starting in the Fall.

"I can't wait," Dobyns said when asked how excited he is to play for the Rainbow Warriors next year. "They are in a great conference in the Big West."

The sophomore right-hander is 5-1 in eight appearances this season and 11-6 (1 save) in 23 career appearances in the Green and Gold. Last year, the West Hills alum was named to the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference honorable mention list.

"I look forward to representing the Great people of Hawai'i and the traditions at "The Les" (Les Murakami Stadium)."

The Warriors have seven players from the State of California (one from San Diego) on their 40-man roster. Half of the roster is from the Islands, giving the Warriors a local flavor.

Former University of San Diego head coach Rich Hill is the man in charge for the Warriors.
