CHULA VISTA -- The Griffins finished the regular season Saturday with a 15-9 record (5-0 PCAC). This weekend the Griffins got wins over Citrus and Santa Monica, suffered tough losses against #6 Saddleback and # 8 Mt. SAC. Both losses were similar in that we played them tough for the first half, got behind in the 3rd and held our own in the 4th.
The four games were all fantastic games and helped the team in their preparation for the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference tournament coming up next weekend, which will also be held at Souhwestern College.
SWC tournament results:
Grossmont vs Citrus 18-10 W
Grossmont vs #8 Mt. SAC 6-9 L
Grossmont vs #6 Saddleback 4-14 L
Grossmont vs Santa Monica 13-8 W
The Griffins will be back in the pool next Friday for the PCAC semi finals. 5:00 pm vs the winner of Miramar and Mesa College (which will be held earlier in the day). Please come out to Southwestern College and support the Griffins as they pursue yet another PCAC Championship and automatic berth into the State Championships.
