MIRA MESA — The Grossmont College Soccer team defeated San Diego Miramar by a 5-0 score line in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference fixture.

"It's always nice to get a win away from home and a clean sheet," Head Coach Edwin Lee said.

Miramar (1-10, 1-5 PCAC) was shorthanded for the match as they fielded a side with only eight players.

"Miramar fought hard despite being down for the whole game. So, we need to be ready when they come to Grossmont."

Grossmont (3-5, 3-3 PCAC) with a full side of 11, scored one in the first half and four in the second.

"I may have gotten my starting team selection a little wrong today and struggled to play with fluidity in the first half. Luckily, we rebounded well in the second half, and overall, I am happy with the team's response and glad to give players the minutes they likely deserve."

The Griffins will be back on the pitch on Tuesday, October 11 when the San Diego Mesa side.  The fixture is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. on the Grossmont College campus.
