FULLERTON — The Grossmont Griffin Women's Volleyball team swept their way to a victory on Wednesday defeating Fullerton College 25-10, 25-14, 25-17 in a very snappy 70 minutes.

With the win, the ladies have evened their season ledger at 2-2.  Meanwhile, Fullerton drops to 3-4.

For the match, the Griffins hit a very nice 41.5 percent.  Leading the way was Madi Bogle with a match-high 12 kills.  The next closest hitter was Aly Guise with her nine kills and Brooke Miller with a nice round eight kills.

Fullerton was led by Mareta Poe and Jade McIntyre who each had four kills.

Chelsee Trendler had 31 assists on the night, giving her 99 assists in three matches this month.

In addition to her eight kills, Miller added in five more points from the service line.  The five aces were half of what Grossmont had for the match.

Three different players for the Green and Gold had seven digs (Miller, Bogle and Allison Carter).

It was a block party as the Griffins had 15 for the night, led by Guise with five.  Bogle, Carter and Joanna Verdugo-Del Real each had three.

The Griffins will host Moorpark and Mt. San Antonio in a three-way on Friday (Sept. 9).
