CCCWVCA POLL #5

SACRAMENTO -- The California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association (CCCWVCA) released the fifth poll of the season and it showed the Griffins moving up three spots primarily due to beating San Diego Mesa (at the time number four in the State) in a sweep.

It was a topsy-turvy week in the rankings as 20 teams moved within the poll.  Some of the craziness was spurred by Santa Barbara City handed Ventura their first loss of the season in four sets, Mt. San Antonio jumped 11 spots in this weeks poll after a reverse sweep of Pasadena City in addition to the Griffins sweep.  Santa Monica is on a hot streak as they have won four consecutive five set matches.

Grossmont, now ranked second in Southern California (behind Ventura, ranked fifth overall), will travel to San Diego City on Wednesday (5 p.m.) and then on Friday will take the long road to Imperial Valley (6 p.m.).  The next home match for the Griffins is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 14 against San Diego Miramar (6 p.m.).
