SACRAMENTO — The Grossmont College Griffin Women’s Volleyball team moved up one spot in the California Community College Women’s Volleyball Coaches Association’s latest poll released today. The Griffins stayed pat as the second ranked team in Southern California.

The only movement in the Top 10 was American River falling down to seventh from fifth after losing to second ranked San Joaquin Delta in straight sets on Friday.

The Griffins (13-3, 8-0 Pacific Coast Athletic Conference) posted a pair of sweeps this past week. First taking out District rival Cuyamaca (25-13, 25-13, 25-13) and then on Friday taking care of San Diego Miramar (25-11, 25-9, 25-10) on the home court at Griffin Arena.

San Diego Mesa is one spot behind Grossmont in both the State and Regional polls. MiraCosta in third place in the Conference (and Friday’s opponent for the Griffins (at MiraCosta, 6:00 p.m.)) moved up two spots to 21st in the State and 13th in Southern California.

Other Pacific Coast Athletic Conference teams receiving votes are Palomar (who the Griffins travel to on Wednesday) and Southwestern.
