EL CAJON — The 2022 Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Champions are the No. 4 Grossmont College Griffins! 

Madi Bogle had a double-double with 16 kills and 10 digs in a three-set sweep of Imperial Valley (6-16, 4-10 PCAC) that took just 69 minutes. The set scores were 25-11, 25-13, 25-15 in favor of the top Southern California team at Grossmont (19-3, 14-0 PCAC). 

Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Female Athlete of the Week Lauren Dumo had a game-high 18 digs in addition to five assists and a service ace. 

Kelsey Carter had 11 kills for the Griffins. Setter Chelsee Trendler had a game-high 30 assists and nearly had a double-double herself. Trendler ended up with six kills and four digs to go along with her service ace. 

The Griffins had nine service aces in the match, led by Brooke Miller's three to go along with her 12 digs and two assists. 

Rylee Suggett (eight digs and two aces) and Mercedes Lopez (five assists and two aces) also had multiple aces.

Celebrating the Championship with the team was GCCCD Chancellor Dr. Lynn Neault, Grossmont College President Dr. Denise Whisenhunt, GCCCD Governing Board member Elena Adams and Athletic Director Jason Allen. (Picture below)

The Griffins will be honoring their sophomores prior to the match on Friday when they host GCCCD rival Cuyamaca. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m., with sophomore festivities starting around 5:45.
