GRIFFIN FALL SEASON IS OFF TO A RUNNING START

Fall classes at Grossmont College are off to a running start as of August 17.

"The first week was not without its challenges but as always many rose to the occasion and provided solutions that worked for us and our students," stated Nabil Abu-Ghazaleh, Ed.D., President of Grossmont College.

One of those solutions was a bulk distribution of Chromebook laptops to Grossmont College students (and student-athletes!), led by Grossmont College Dean of Student Success and Equity, Lida Rafia, and Guided Pathways Project Coordinator Carmen Hernandez.

Additionally, in just two weeks prior to the start of the semester Grossmont College received great news -enrollment had increased by 15 percent! This was a great collective effort by all groups on campus.

"Please join us as we celebrate and look forward to a great athletic and academic year for our students, staff and coaches," stated Nedra Brown, Associate Dean of Athletics.

Dr. Nabil Abu-Ghazaleh comments, "Athletics training and the hope for a competitive season moved for all sports into Spring will depend on our ability to comply with regulations for regular, frequent testing. There is some hopeful news about innovations in testing which the college will follow closely naturally both for Athletics and for our collective well-being."
