NINE GRIFFINS NAMED TO ALL-SCFA MOUNTAIN TEAMS

SACRAMENTO -- The Southern California Football Association yesterday announced their All-SCFA Mountain Division. Nine Griffins made the list including Jagger Giles who was named Defensive Player of the Year for 2022. 

Giles, a 6' 1" sophomore linebacker from Helix, led the Griffins with 87 total tackles (43 solo), 7.5 tackles for loss a sack and a pass breakup. 

Being named to the All-SCFA Mountain Division First Offense Team from Grossmont was offensive lineman Isaiah Owens. The 6' 3" sophomore out of Christian high, helped lead the way for the Griffin offense to average 360.3 yards per game. 

On the All-SCFA Mountain Division Second teams are Offensive lineman Andrew Golembiewski (6', sophomore, Santana), wide receiver Cleveland Ford III (5' 11", sophomore, Gullport, Mississippi), running back Keyion Holloway (5'10, sophomore, DeLand, Florida). On the defensive side, defensive tackle Jeriah Jackson (6' 2", sophomore, San Diego HS), defensive end Christian Paleafei (6', freshman, Moanalua, Hawai'i), corner back Xavier Hamlett (5'10, sophomore, Lincoln HS) and safety Tymon Paleafei (5' 9", freshman, Moanalua, Hawai'i). 

"We're really proud of Jagger, Isaiah, Andrew, Cleveland, Keyion, X and the Palefai brothers," head coach Michael Jordan said. 

Grossmont finished the season 4-6 after having to deal with multiple key players with major injuries.
