CARLI WILLIS AND NOELLE ABRANTES QUALIFY FOR STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Grossmont women's swimmer Carli Willis and diver Noelle Abrantes qualify for the CCCAA state championship. The state championship is scheduled to be held in Cupertino, CA May 2-4, 2019.

At the state tournament Willis will compete in the 400 IM, 200 Fly and 500 Free events. During the Pacific Coast Conference Championships April 18-20, Willis captured first place in both the 400 IM and 200 Fly. Willis is a sophomore out of West Hills High. In her freshman year at Grossmont College (2017-18), she broke the school record in the 200 meter butterfly by more than 10 seconds with a time of 2:29.01. She did so again with a time of 2:19.35 - a 10 second improvement from her last recorded swim.

Noelle Abrantes, freshman out of Santana High, qualified for the state 1M and 3M events as a diver. She placed second in both events during the conference championships.

Additionally, dive coach Robin Anderson secured the Pacific Coast Conference Coach of Year award this spring 2019!
