The Grossmont Women's Volleyball team's season has concluded after another strong season. The season ended with a 3-0 loss to Irvine Valley in the second round of the SoCal Regional Playoffs, but Head Coach Jamie Ivers is still very proud of her players and the season they had.

"I believe we had a very strong balanced squad this year. The most balanced offensively in the state in my opinion." Ivers said. "I think the seeding was unfortunate and the consistent upsets in the South proved that with multiple lower ranked teams beating top eight opponents in the first and second rounds."

The Griffins (21-7) were led in attacks by freshman Alexcis Morris and sophomore Felicia Marshall, who finished with 269 and 237 kills respectively. Freshmen Erin Roberts and Sheay Isbell led the team in sets with 610 and 250 respectively.

The team made great strides throughout the year to get better and continued Coach Ivers' strong tenure at the helm of Women's Volleyball.

"I believe our entire squad improved dramatically and not one individual outshined the next. This is an extraordinary group of young women who I believe are going to do some amazing things this spring with this growing pain from the fall," Ivers said.

With such a good record both overall and in conference, the Griffins' end to the season was surely somewhat disappointing. This growing pain, as Coach Ivers called it, should help fuel the team to come back next season with a sense of purpose.

"As always we will return over half of our squad and will look to reload for fall 2018."
