
Grossmont College Women's Water Polo entered the PCAC Championship Tournament with an impressive 3-1 record, and their strong play continued throughout the tournament. In the semifinals, the Griffins faced off against the #3-seeded Palomar Comets. After trailing 0-4 at halftime, the Griffins mounted an incredible comeback in the second half, winning 7-5. The offensive surge was sparked by sophomore Rasma Rotsart, who netted back-to-back goals in the third quarter, getting Grossmont on the scoreboard. Sophomores Camille Seiley and Elizabeth Spiller each added two goals in the fourth quarter, contributing to the decisive push. Freshman goalkeeper Erica Neri delivered an outstanding performance, limiting the Comets to just one goal in the second half. With their 7-5 victory, Grossmont advanced to the championship game.
In the championship match, the Griffins faced a tough opponent in Miramar. Although Grossmont's defense, anchored by Neri's 16 saves, kept them in the game, they fell short, finishing as the tournament's runner-up. The Griffins mounted a strong fourth-quarter rally, outscoring Miramar 3-2, but ultimately couldn't overcome the deficit. Offensively, Lilian Warder and Elizabeth Spiller each scored two goals, while Rasma Rotsart drew four exclusions, showcasing her leadership on both ends of the pool. Despite the loss, the Griffins' resilience and determination throughout the tournament earned them a well-deserved second-place finish at the PCAC Championship.
